The Royal Bros. Circus was Canadian base circus which operated from 1973-1976. The show was owned by Al Stencell in partnership with John Frazier. In 1976 the partnership of Stencil and Frazier was dissolved, The following season Al took out the Martin and Downs Circus which he operated until 1983.
In 1976 A wonderful documentary was filmed on the Royal Bros. Circus by the National Film Board of Canada. The film was tilted "High Grass Circus", co-directed by Tony Ianzelo and Torben Schioler. The film was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature.
