Circus Vargas

Since his childhood Clifford E. Vargas the grandson of Portuguese circus owners, was fascinated with the circus and had dreams of one day owning his own show. He had worked for several circus in the promotional end of the business.

Vargas was working with the Miller Johnson circus when it came up for sale. Vargas didn't hesitate to invest his life savings ($250,000) and make his dreams come true.

Since Miller John had been an indoor their was no tent in the purchase, so Cliff's first priority was to get a tent. Vargas opened the Circus with only three trucks and eight animals and the equipment purchased from Miller Johnson, (seats, ring curb, props and some concessions).

Vargas continued to operate the circus until his death on September 5, 1989.

After Vargas' death Roland Kaiser and Joseph Muscarello, who were managers on the circus took over and carried on the operation until their retirement in 2003.
In 2005, Nelson &Katya Quiroga-Tabares formed the "Tabares Entertainment, Inc."and revived the Circus Vargas Title, (Nelson had worked on the Vargas Show as a flyer).

Nelson and Katya are still operating the circus today.
